Penn Station shares the same block of Madison Square Garden so I just wanted to get a glimpse of the famous sports venues before heading to Times Square and did little. As we headed north on Seventh Avenue our senses were overwhelmed by the images and sounds, smells and sometimes (and sometimes not so pleasant smell) from New York.
This is the garment district and there were names of the largest and most famous clothing in the world on the buildings at each turn. Sidewalks were crowded by tourists. The streets were clogged with taxis. It was seen and a good feeling. We bought a couple of silk scarves a street vendor for only $ 5 each thought that we had secured the agreement of only a century to see the same scarves at the same price in many places around the city the rest of the day. But we were always pleased with the purchase offer.
As we arrived at Times Square, once again we were overwhelmed, but this time it is neon. It is an amazing place. You certainly realize that trade is king when you see Times Square. One of the things we wanted to do in Times Square was to go to the "Tckts" place where you can get tickets at half price to Broadway Shows. With a bit of construction underway, he was moved to a location one block west on 42nd Street. There were hundreds of people in line to get tickets. To our surprise, half the price was still $ 60 that we will pass a performance all the more that our time is so limited. But we did enjoy a huge soft pretzel and a hot-dog of a street vendor on the right. I strongly recommend get onions on hot dogs, they were soooo good! Then we're back to Times Square, through singing, guitar playing "naked cowboy" (he had underwear) and to Rockefeller Center. |

The walk from New York as the most successful ever walk - we had more than 3,900 walkers and had raised $ 10.2 million
Who knew that NY could look nice if? But, the bad smell TOGETHER!
For this cause-it felt great to be a part of that. And we felt quite exciting as we place at further in the mist of early morning our Jan. 13 miles. Jess and I had decided that our lack of training we keep trying to do the full 39.3 miles of the promenade, and we would do the Feb. 26 over two days instead. The route Saturday we took over two bridges (Manhattan Bridge in Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Bridge back into Manhattan) - this was pretty hard for me and my fear sizes, but we have not had much choice, and I wanted to be strong and really accomplish something as part of the tour. The route was one long (13.1 miles) and it felt like we were walking for days. The first mile or so was a breeze, and I still struggle with Miles 2-4, which is when my hip always starts really bother me. But we have kept it, enriched with water, gatorade and have limited snacks for rest stops along the way. We took a short break in the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge, to change our socks and reapply
Powder balm and foot anti-boursouflure. We maintained our research real bathrooms, as opposed to port-o-pots and whenever I had to use one of those, I promised that I do not have to use a never again! |

This morning we verified outside our inn and we made our way to the HOTEL that we remained inside for the duration of our trip of contiki. Satisficimos to our ones in charge of the trip in a group meeting and we learned that the trip was really 2 groups that meant that there were approximately 80 people in trip of contiki in the hotel!
After finishing the meeting we directed towards it go to the buses and towards the statue of the freedom and shutdown in the line by 2 hours to obtain on the boat. We walked around island and we saw statue (obvious since he is so enormous), and we made our photo of the group also take in the statue of the freedom. Then we obtained behind in the boat and we directed again to Manhattan to begin our trip of the city. We went to the Earth site zero that is under construction and then we had lunch. We began our trip and we lead with areas for example: Village of Greenwich, street of Bleecker, university of NYU, Broadway, Soho, street of the channel, Chinatown, the area of Tribeca, Wall ßstreet, Capel of the St. Pauls, Tiffany´s and the towers of the triumph, St. the Patricks Cathederal, center of Rockefeller, building of the state of the empire, central base, side of the superior west, Harlem, 5ta reconciled, mile of the museum, and side of the east of the stop. Phew, what a trip!
After our trip which we verified in the hotel and after we went to the supper in the taxi Co. of Hot where we ate the Mexican food of the style. After the supper we goes to the building of the state of the empire to be shutdown in the line by other 2 hours before doing it to the cover. Era so cold we took pictures hardly before our hands congealed excessive but the vision was beautiful!
After the state of the empire which we filled in the slime (yes we traveled in style) and directed to this club at night called to Coyote Ugly that is really very similar to the film. Although obtaining in the slime is pleasant there and all what we swore the slime were had by the Mafia then éramos insurances that they kidnapped to us and that we were taken to the back streets of us we do not have no idea where before finally we did it to the taxi. Easily frightened!
The bar was pleasant but now it was midnight and each one directed dull to another club and decided that enough he was enough and again went to the hotel to enjoy our comforts of the creature that we lacked so much! |
